Somali Journalist and the general secretary of National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSO) Omar Faruk Osman today Tuesday December 29 survived assassination attempt in Mogadishu drive-by-shooting.

According to media reports, Faruk was entering (NUSO) office at Teleh area in Mogadishu when unknown gunmen in a minivan blocked his way and sprayed bullets into his car.

The assassination attempt comes a day after Faruk denounced a controversial media law passed by the Somali parliament on Monday.

At least three people–a bodyguard and two pedestrians were wounded in the attack.
