Ministry of Health says sick patient in Calabar did not die of Ebola

The Ministry of Health has discredited reports of another case of Ebola in Calabar Cross Rivers, affirming that Nigeria is Ebola free.
At a press conference in Calabar this afternoon, the permanent secretary of the ministry of Health, Linus Awute said test carried out on the dead patient’s specimen, tested negative to Ebola and Lassa fever.

    “After the tests, it is very clear it has nothing to do with Ebola or Lassa fever. Results confirmed that the deceased was negative of Ebola virus and Lassa fever. He said.”

The ministry of health states that Nigeria remains Ebola free.
